


The other notable thing about the announcement trailer is the game’s noticeable shift from its 3D form to a 2.5D aesthetic, showcasing depth which is especially important for stages where in you have to decide whether to take the higher or lower ground. I’m assuming this because of the appearance of that annoying crab-like tank, although it has made guest appearances in other Metal Slug games as well. So far, it does not look like Code: J will be an all-new addition to the Metal Slug franchise, but instead, a vast reimagining of Metal Slug 3. The announcement trailer, which runs for just under a minute and 30 seconds, showcases snippets of the title’s gameplay. The game is set to release for mobile devices. Publisher SNK and developer TiMi Studios (who is under tech giant Tencent Games) have just revealed Metal Slug Code: J, the code name for the yet-to-be officially announced installment in the classic 2D run-and-gun arcade franchise.
